How we handle your information.

Effective: 2026-05-31

What we collect

When you fill out the quote request form on our contact page, we collect the following information: your full name, email address, phone number (optional), neighbourhood, the room you're renovating (bathroom, kitchen, both, or other), your rough budget range, your preferred timeline, and any notes or details you choose to share.

That's it. We don't use tracking pixels, we don't run remarketing ads, and we don't install cookies beyond what Next.js needs to serve the site. The only data we have on you is what you typed into that form.

Who sees it

When you hit submit, your message travels through Resend — a U.S.-based email delivery service — and lands in our inbox at [email protected]. Resend processes the email for delivery and does not retain message content after it's been delivered; they are the only third-party processor involved.

On our end, James and the team read your inquiry and respond from that same inbox. Your information isn't shared with anyone outside J Squared Renovations — not subcontractors, not suppliers, not marketing platforms.

How long we keep it

We keep your inquiry until your project is closed, or 12 months after submission — whichever is later. After that, we delete it. The email thread we exchange with you (our replies, your follow-ups) follows the same retention window.

If you never hear back from us or decide not to move forward, your submission is still deleted on the same schedule. We're not building a prospect list.

How to request access or deletion

You have the right to ask what we have on file, correct it, or request that we delete it. Email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy request” and we'll respond within 30 days. That's the only channel for data requests — phone is for booking conversations, not data administration.

This page and our data-handling practices are aligned with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which governs how private-sector organizations collect, use, and disclose personal information in the course of commercial activity. If you believe your privacy rights haven't been respected, you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
